Born in 1955 in Cobourg, Ontario, Len Ward came to Ottawa in 1974 to study architecture at Carleton University. After graduating in 1980, he took a position with the National Museums of Canada where he was involved with projects such as the National Aviation Museum, the Museum of Civilization and the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography.

In 1987 he left the public sector for private practice, later becoming a partner in Temprano Young & Ward Architects Inc. At TYW he was project architect for many projects involving heritage restoration, new commercial and residential buildings and extensive work on institutional and public buildings. In 2007 he left the firm to establish len ward • architecture inc. The firm practices out of new offices located at 2310 St. Laurent Blvd.

elizabeth zdansky

intern architect


Elizabeth joined len ward • architecture inc. in 2009, contributing a great deal of experience in architecture, interior design and art direction. In the past 20 years she has worked both in Canada and the United States and has been involved in all stages of project work, from initial concept development through to final execution.

As an intern architect at len ward • architecture inc., Elizabeth is involved in a multitude of projects for both public and private clients. Among her greatest strengths are her artistic sensibility, technical knowledge of design software and her ability to communicate in three languages - English, French and Czech.

ana brooks

intern architect


A graduate of the architecture program at Carleton University, Ana brings to len ward • architecture inc. her strong design skills, artistic interests and her proficiency with a number of creative software tools. She communicates in English, French and Spanish and has travelled and studied abroad. Ana works on a wide variety of new construction as well as renovation and restoration projects.

Melina joined len ward • architecture inc. in 2011, bringing her design skills and over all creativity to our team. Her primary role is as an interior designer and technologist, preparing design and tender documentation in both English and French.

Shirley joined len ward • architecture inc. in 2013 to assist with the firm's commercial and residential projects, providing design and technical drawing support.
